Speaker: Zoran Pejic

Zoran Pejic holds a BSc in Orthoptics with specialization in special education-vision deficiency. He has graduated with MMedSci (Orthoptics) from Sheffield University and is currently researching his PhD thesis. Zoran also pioneered a non-surgical treatment of certain forms of strabismus (squint) at the Singapore National Eye Centre. His expertise is in detection and remediation of functional vision issues that might interfere with learning process, attention and behaviour. Zoran has published a number of articles in leading medical journals. He is the founding president of the Asia Pacific Orthoptic Association and is a member of the management committee of the International Orthoptic Association. He also heads the first vision therapy centre in South East Asia based in Singapore.


Course Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. What are the basic visual functions; static versus dynamic vision?
  2. What are the possible deficits of functional vision?
  3. How vision functions within and affects multi-sensory systems?
  4. What is the impact of deficient functional vision on learning process, attention and overall behaviour?
  5. How to remediate functional vision?
