Half-Day Workshop
Seminar: Connect and Regulate Through Play
Pre-schoolers who can calm themselves, control their behaviors and focus on tasks tended to have the ability to self regulate. In this workshop, participants will learn to structure play activities, use play techniques to help children develop self regulation in class.

Dr. Alicia has worked for over 24 years in social services and private practice in Hong Kong and Singapore. At present, she is a Faculty member with the National University of Singapore. Dr. Alicia also continues to provide clinical consultation through her private practice group. Dr. Alicia’s training is in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Analytical Psychology, Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Sensorimotor Art Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Touch Skills, Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy, Brainspotting, and Social Work. Her clinical experiences and specializations include complex trauma, divorce & separation, grief & loss, adoption & attachment, developmental stresses, and parent child relationship.

Course Outline
- What is regulation and how to become an external regulator to a child who is feeling dysregulated?
- How to connect with own's activations before becoming an external regulator to the child.
- Practice play skills and structuring play activities to connect and regulate a child's feelings and behaviors.
Course Objectives
Learner will be able to :
- Understand what is self regulation
- Learn how to use:
- Play to connect with a child to build trust and safety.
- Play to regulate a child's overwhelming feelings or behaviors during play or social engagement.
